When Norwex announced they were expanding into New Zealand early in 2015, I was SO EXCITED!! A few months ago my awesome cousin Amy, who LOVES her Norwex bought the business Dry & Tea– a hair dressing salon experience in New Zealand and I got a message from her requesting Norwex for the Salons. So off went two Kick Start kits (an enviro cloth, polish cloth & dust mitt) in the post.
After they arrived, I received this photo of one of the girls and she said how much they LOVED the Norwex in the salon- the dust mitt so perfect for cleaning surfaces and dusting products, the enviro & polish perfect for mirrors & cleaning.
How awesome is that?!
* If you are in New Zealand (or Australia) or know someone who would be interested in a ground up business opportunity (A LOT of the training we do is online so this is easy to do!). If you would like more information feel free to look at it here or check out the tab at the right about starting a Norwex business.
If you are from any of the countries Norwex is in or about to be in and you would like to sign up, I will soon be able to help you as well and get you some help, so feel free to contact me below as well.
If you are interested in reading our “Norwex Purpose” booklet– it’s all about Norwex, the mission and was actually one of the KEY things I read that I inwardly went “yes, I really love all that this company stands for and the direction they are going”.
Why? Because you get products for solutions covering your bathroom, windows, walls, dusting, polishing, the kitchen & more. No more jiff, no more gumption, paper towel, chux, orange spray, sugar soap, spray and wipe…
NO MORE chemicals.
Switch your sprays and cleaning products to these cloths & cleaning paste and you have a natural, time and money saving solution for your everyday cleaning.
Buying these amazing products together means you get them 30% off, the dream starter kit works out to be $147.50 (RRP $211, save $63.50). They come with a 60 day money back satisfaction guarantee AND a TWO year warranty. Our basic Dream starter kit works out at $1.42 a week over that two years, I know I used to spend WAAAY more on that per
week if I added up all the products I’d buy to clean my house. Look after these cloths of course and they should last longer much longer than that. I still have the bulk of my cloths for over 5 years (since I started using Norwex!)
My goal with this article is to outline simply WHAT you get for the kit and WHY it is a fabulous and great value kit. If you would like a run down on what Norwex is about, please click here.)
So what’s in this dream kit?
One kitchen cloth…
(you can also purchase seperately)
Get rid of those stinky chux, sponges, spray and wipe and paper towel & enter these amazing kitchen cloths. These fast drying and absorbent cloths are made from microfibre and since they have our “baclock” silver technology within the cloth which is added during manufacturing, it inhibits bacterial odour, mould and mildew growth within the cloth so they just don’t smell like other dish cloths.
Where do you use them? It is fantastic for wiping kitchen tables and benches, stovetops, refrigerator shelves, cleaning up kitchen spills and washing up (just use it on the blunt side of sharp knives). Use them on stainless steel, enamel, ceramic, glass, chrome, granite, marble, slate, quartz, tile, wood, plastic, stone and china. Wring out and hang cloth after use. If you have a thermomix these are a MUST have! If you get STREAKY benchtops they are also a MUST HAVE!
Just a few comments about the cloths that customers have written in the past few months,
“Rachelle you gave me one of these. I love the way it doesn’t leave any streaks on my benchtops”, Sue
“Love these, they clean everything in the kitchen, and they don’t get smelly… I wash them because I think I should now, not because they smell”, Sharon
“This has to be my favourite Norwex cloth! I got two in my Dream Starter Kit, but used them so frequently, I bought myself another two! Two on the go, two in the wash. Wipe your bench, your baby, your dishes, your hands and sticky faces. Clean up your food, crumbs and spills quickly and efficiently. And best of all, it rinses out really, really easily!” One of my past Norwex hosts
One Kitchen towel
The same as our kitchen cloths, but larger. Some great features:
Contains Norwex’s exclusive BacLock®* agent
The AMAZING Duo… the enviro cloth & window/polish cloth
The enviro is our “everything” cloth. This tightly woven microfibre cloth has 2.9 million metres of microfibre in it. So as you clean surfaces the tiny hooks on each fibre pull up any residue and dirt off the surface. This can be used dry or damp. And clean surfaces such as windows, mirrors, shower screens, walls, carpet stains, couches, car interiors, cupboards and more. You get one of these enviro cloths in this kit (or TWO in the Dream starter kit plus).
Then add its “bestie” the window cloth and you have a serious combination. Have a read of a post about “my wall heroes” here…Clean your windows and mirrors just with water QUICKLY and STREAK free. I will often at a party draw with butter on the window a bit like this guy to the right… then use a damp folded enviro & a dry polish/Window cloth and clean off the “butter art” & the whole window both sides with the same cloth!
Here’s a cute little man from a big party I did a few years ago. I just had to take a picture of him, as he was so cute! (Please NOTE you don’t need butter to clean! Unlike a very special customer who thought you did!)
This combo comes with a warning though! Put stickers on the window as glass does look invisible! Read about a true (a slighly humourous story) here about that! Glass REALLY does look invisible.
Add the scrub cloth and you have your BATHROOM attack system–
The scrub cloth is amazing. I have a professional cleaner (now consultant) buy over 30 of these cloths. They are seriously awesome.
How is it that I have customers LIGHT UP LIKE THEY HAVE HAD A BABY- when they talk about this cloth? Really they do! It feels abrasive but won’t scratch your glass. You can also add cleaning paste (also available in the Dream Starter Kit), the blue diamond or descaler to budge really built up soap scum. You can also use it in the kitchen (for example on your teflon products or with the oven & grill cleaner). This is the ideal cloth for hard to clean surfaces. Also, great for cleaning showers, including shower floors and glass and bathtubs, and removing sticky residue, stubborn stains or rust. Great for removing soap residue and cleaning around taps.
“The Grease Cloth” Aka the all purpose kitchen cloth
This is my dad’s favourite cloth, it is a MUST HAVE. He was so funny, when I gave him the “grease” cloth to clean his stainless steel, pizza oven, BBQ, range hood- I’m not sure how many phone calls I have received from him to send them to different friends and family. This photo was just a quick one when I cleaned the top of the kitchen cupboard. It’s AMAZING how you can feel the cloth “grab” at the grease.
I recall one of my hosts and regular customers share about this cloth and her range hood. She was (probably still is!) a lady who takes MUCH care in the look of her home (much more than me!!) and she said once she got her dream starter kit home- she took this grease cloth out for her nemesis her RANGE HOOD- she had bought wipes, sprays, cleaners, stainless steel cloths- NOTHING had budged the “film” of grease. UNTIL THIS CLOTH!!!!!! Just with water- it was gone in only a few minutes. I still remember her excitement!!
It really does work- it certainly is a cloth with the “WOW” factor!!!!!
Let’s Add the Cleaning Paste…
And you have a formidable force. The cleaning paste. I USED to love gumption- anyone else love their gumption? I didn’t love the yellow revealed paint whilst getting a mark off the wall though…
I also USED to love those little magic erasers- anyone love those? Note I am using the past tense- I no longer use these little (expensive) chemical bombs- I usually just use a DAMP enviro cloth or scrub cloth (if it’s in the bathroom) and MAGIC- GONE…
The cleaning paste is an environmentally friendly cleaning and polishing agent that works with a damp Scrub Cloth, Envirocloth or
Kitchen Cloth to clean, polish and protect plastic, enamel, ceramics, chrome, steel, aluminium and porcelain surfaces in one application. Works great to remove rust, stains and scuff marks, and on bathroom sinks and tiles too!
And last, but not least- the AMAZING Dust mitt.
The dust mitt is like a MAGNET!! I have used mitts and cloths in the past that just swoosh everything around! Not this one. At my very first Norwex party- the consultant cleaned my fans which were directly above US- and we were all slightly concerned we would end up as dust bunnies (as I hadn’t cleaned those fans in 6 months!) however we all had dropped jaws by the end of that demonstration!
The structure of the ultra fine fibres and the natural static charge inherent to synthetic products enables the Dusting Mitt to attract and trap dust and dirt more efficiently than cotton. You can use anywhere that requires dusting! For example: blinds, wooden Venetians, fans, banisters, vehicle dashboards, tops of cupboards, lamps, screens etc.
SO YOU GET ALL OF THIS IN THE DREAM STARTER KIT FOR ONLY $147.50. AS IT IS VALUED AT $211, IT’S AS IF YOU GET THE ENVIRO & CLEANING PASTE FOR FREE!!

My aim in this article is to briefly address how Norwex is different to other microfibres around. It is an amazing, versatile, affordable product and I do warn people that using Norwex cloths can be quite addictive. EVEN for those people who DON’T like to clean (like me!). Are you thinking “how on earth is that possible?” well let me explain… it just makes cleaning tasks which are typically a pain (like cleaning the oven, your floors, the shower, marks off walls etc.) so quick, so effective and so EASY. There are so many microfibres on the market- Norwex, Enjo, e-cloth, microfibres you can buy at the supermarket, online @ at markets. The question about how Norwex is different to other microfibres comes up all the time. You can buy 10 microfibre cloths from Big W for $10 why would you buy a Norwex enviro cloth (multi purpose cloth) for example for $29? (this was one of my first questions!)
How is Norwex different?
Norwex microfibres are made with a blend of polyester & polyamide. Polyamide simply helps with durability.
When the Norwex microfibre is at the pulp stage in the factory they add SILVER.
Silver has antibacterial properties, properties humans have been using for decades. Hospitals use silver as their top defence against infection in burns patients. I know before I even knew Norwex existed, I was encouraged to buy (and bought) silver pads for my kindergarten daughter who tripped down a HUGE concrete hill (poor thing I still cringe as I think how that turned out). The Norwex labels, if they have the silver added will have the word ‘Antibac’ or our newer cloths will have ‘Baclock’ on the label.
The silver DOES NOT wash out of our microfibres.
What does the silver do?
The micro silver is an antibacterial agent for self-cleaning purposes. The agent inhibits bacterial odour, mould, and/or mildew growth within the product. IT doesn’t make the surface antibacterial the AMAZING micro fibres will remove everything off the surface for you easily and effectively THEN the silver goes to work. What does this mean? The micro silver in a wet cloth goes to work using its self-purification properties against mould, fungi and bacterial odour within 24 hours. Using JUST water, surfaces are left free from EVERYTHING- cleaned, polished and streak free.
I just think of our kitchen cloths so affordably priced and they replace your sponges, smelly microfibre cloths- because of the QUALITY & SILVER they just don’t smell like other cloths do. If you have bench tops or tables that streak, then you just HAVE to get 2-3 of these babies- THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
Cost & Quality
Norwex is a high quality microfibre and it’s important know for a fibre to be considered “microfibre” it needs to be 1/6 of a human hair or finer. Norwex microfibre is 1/200 of a human hair!! (Enjo fibres are 1/100th & supermarket brands nowhere near this density).
The way microfibre works, is every microfibre has tiny ‘hooks’ on the fibre, the capillary action PULLS the bacteria, dirt, dust, grease and residue up into the cloth. With Norwex Antibacterial Microfibre, you don’t breathe, touch or digest chemical cleaners and their residue. You remove, (not spread) the dirt, dust, grease and 99.9% of bacteria from a surface. Then the silver goes to work and inhibits the bacterial growth.
The quality, two-year warranty on cloths, the 60 day satisfaction guarantee on ALL products and the added silver make for one amazing microfibre. Compared to other Direct Selling cleaning products Norwex is by far a more affordable product. The ability to clean your whole home for around $4 per week over 2 years makes having a Norwex home more appealing to the hip pocket. If you want to convert your home to Norwex have a look at the Healthy Home Packages(mop, cloths & more) or the dream starter kit. (remember here, if you do buy anything through my online store, you will be emailed the instructions directly from me, which I know helps my customers tremendously to use their products and refer to them.
Versatility & One step cleaning…
There are some products on the market that you need to use multiple steps to clean surfaces, with Norwex it’s a one step process.
As each cleaning challenge has different surfaces and different kinds of dirt and grime, Norwex has formulated different microfibres to tackle every area of your home, office, car & personal care.
The window cloth– for windows, mirrors, polishing jewelry and shiny surfaces.
The Body cloths- for cleansing, exfoliating the skin, make up removal with only water
Washing & Care
No bleach or fabric softeners in the wash with all microfibres. However unlike some other microfibres, Norwex can be washed in machines up to temperatures of 95 degrees celsius with other lint free items. Norwex can go in a moderate dryer up to 60 degrees
A small word on the Norwex-Enjo comparison (a question that comes up frequently)
Firstly BOTH products use microfibre and you are able to switch to chemical free cleaning, however they are actually quite different. One thing I will share and it may help the Enjo user wondering what Norwex is and if it is for them… is those awesome customers I have who are Enjo users (and I absolutely love having Enjo users at my party as they KNOW the value and amazing clean microfibre gives) are absolutely LOVING their Norwex. I think of an older lady I met at a party about a year ago. She told me outright she loves her Enjo (which is great) and as she handed me her $250 order she told me that she absolutely loved the range of our products and bought products that complimented what she already had (eg. she was amazed at our scrub cloth, blown away in fact) but what she loved about the Norwex she was purchasing is it complimented what she had and there were many Norwex products that she “just had to have”. She also purchased products to replace the Enjo ones which had worn out.
Please find below our instructions that go out with all of our Norwex products
One of the questions I often get at parties is “why are the cloths made in China?” (which is a VALID & GREAT question). I actually try to address it straight up as when I personally saw that Norwex was made in China, I thought that meant they were made by some poor person being paid 50 cents an hour. This is NOT the case. We source our products from ALL around the world, where the manufacturing is the best. Our dryer balls are 100% New Zealand wool, our organic personal care items are made in places like Italy and China are ahead of the game in textile manufacturing so that is WHY our factory is based there. Norwex does not manufacture, purchase from, or deal with any companies that are not fair trade or that exploit workers.
I have included an article written from the 2011 Norwex global Update Newsletter about the China Story, click to enlarge to read more. I found it a very helpful read! Norwex did start in NORWAY but they needed to be moved to a bigger location, hence the move to China. Norwex DO NOT contract out the manufacturing of the cloths, rather they own and operates the factory within China. This is really important to understand. Our global CEO visits regularly and there is a Norwegian managing director living in China to oversee all practices.
2015 Update: Sonya Eckel from the USA was privileged to be apart of a group to visit the China factory. The link to her blog article is here and a fabulous one describing her and the team’s experiences. I enjoyed reading it and would so love to visit the factory one day.
2018 Update: Norwex have built an incredible state of the art factory in China & below are the certifications and information about the manufacturing in China. The leader of my wider Norwex team, Linda Pearce had the privilege of going to the opening ceremony and toured around. This is what she had to say about her experience:
” I was blown away by the quality, care and attention to detail Norwex display in relation to our products, factory facilities and equipment and staff.”
I LOVE IT! 🙂 Sonya Eckel also went along to the factory opening & did a thorough 8 minute long you tube video ALL about her experience and is very interesting. So if you would like to see pictures & also hear more about it check it out HERE.
One of the questions I often get asked, is how do I clean my Norwex cloths?
Washing & Drying…
Norwex cloths can be put in the washing machine and they can be put in a moderate dryer, up to 60 degrees celcius. Using Norwex Ultra Power Plus will yield best results, or another environmentally friendly detergent without fillers and bleach.
What about stubborn stains?
If you find a cloth either smells or has stubborn stains, cloths (*) can be boiled in a pot of water for 2-3 minutes, to allow fibres to swell and release the debris. Adding a teaspoon of ultra power plus also can help also. (* Not the mop bases or scrub cloth).
Some Important Cautions…
PLEASE don’t wipe your cloths over hot elements (it will melt the fibres).
Don’t add fabric softener, bleach or dryer sheets when laundering microfibers as these additives coat the coat the surface of the fibres and reduce the microfiber’s ability to clean effectively.
Warranty & Satisfaction Guarantee…
Norwex stands behind their product and offer a TWO YEAR WARRANTY from the date of purchase against faulty workmanship and materials.
DID you know EVERYTHING you purchase from Norwex comes with a 60 day satisfaction money back guarantee?? So what’s stopping you from trying something new?
